Donations If you would like to make a donation,
please make checks payable to the Lealman Fire District You may also contribute to the Lealman Community Safety and Education Fund and promote community spirit at the same time by purchasing special 'Lealman' Tee Shirts and cups which are available for sale at various community events, as well as at the Lealman Fire District office. Mission Statement The Lealman Community Safety and Education Fund exist to: Promote safety and health through education and the dispersion of safety supplies to residents in the Lealman community. Provide additional comfort and service to those who require the assistance of As a first responder, Lealman Fire District is uniquely qualified to recognize and address the immediate needs of victims and their families. Service Projects The following projects are planned using resources from the fund: The acquisition of smoke detectors, car seats, helmets and other safety equipment for citizens in need. (Approximate cost $2,500) The development and implementation of Fire and Safety programs implemented at Daycares, Preschools, Elementary and Middle Schools throughout the Lealman Fire District. This is a safety education program that takes an all-hazards approach with students of all ages. (Approximate cost $2,000) Home friendly ladder to public assistance (checking and changing smoke detectors). Fire truck ladders are designed for heavy duty and can cause damage inside homes. (Approximate cost $1,150) Long Range Service Projects The following projects are being considered for implementation through the fund in the future: The acquisition of a new or the enhancement of an existing Fire Safety House (Trailer). This is a mobile classroom that allows individuals to test their safety awareness and conduct mock fire drills in the home. The development of a safe driving program targeted towards Dixie Hollins High School students. Expanding the Citizens Emergency Response Team (CERT) program in Lealman through the acquisition of equipment and educational materials. The CERT program prepares individual communities and groups to cope with and recover from disasters as efficiently as possible. Lealman Communities and the Safety Fund Special recognition goes to Tyrone Wal-Mart and Diston Plaza Publix. Their desire to “give back” to the community of Lealman was instrumental in bringing the Safety Fund into existence. |
