Long Range Service Projects

The following projects are being considered for implementation through the fund in the future:

The acquisition of a new or the enhancement of an existing Fire Safety House (Trailer).  This is a mobile classroom that allows individuals to test their safety awareness and conduct mock fire drills in the home.

The development of a safe driving program targeted towards Dixie Hollins High School students.

Expanding the Citizens Emergency Response Team (CERT) program in Lealman through the acquisition of equipment and educational materials.  The CERT program prepares individual communities and groups to cope with and recover from disasters as efficiently as possible.

Lealman Communities and the Safety Fund

Special recognition goes to Tyrone Wal-Mart and Diston Plaza Publix.  Their desire to “give back” to the community of Lealman was instrumental in bringing the Safety Fund into existence.
Both stores have held fundraising events and have made generous contributions to the Safety Fund in the past, and are promising more support in the near future.  Their commitment to local charities and to the people of Leal
man is to be recognized and applauded!
